GOOD TO KNOW
Separation Will Occur
You must stir very well before brushing, rolling, or spraying.
CB MATTE FORMULAS are so rich and thick, like yogurt, mayo, ketchup, or mustard, separation will occur, and water will rise to the top.
CB SATIN FORMULAS formulas are so silky, smooth, and buttery that using a great brush or a smooth roller is best to lather your surfaces. You must stir very well before brushing, rolling, or spraying.
Two Coats Is Always Better Than One
In nail polish terms, a double coat doubles the richness of the color. One generous coat will cover the wall. Two coats will blanket the surface perfectly even, making the color look twice as rich and, logically, protecting the wall with more paint, making it twice as durable.
A Little Goes A Long Way
Surface preparation is always a must. Walls need to be clean, dry, and able to have paint adhere. After you paint, store your paint in smaller containers to keep it air-tight. Think canning and store paint in canning jars like canned fruits. Leave a little air at the top, and seal well.

Gretchen's education includes Art Therapy, Architecture, Fashion Design, and Graphic Design. Her tutelage by Estee Lauder INC, where she worked as a make-up artist and became a regional trainer in the Pacific Northwest, equipped her with the expertise to develop her Chromatic Wisdom. Her professional journey began when she became a stay-at-home mom, sold art in galleries, and then created a paint palette for walls that she later deemed divine! Devine Color™, Color Therapy For the Northwest, in 1999, became a trailblazing brand empowering homeowners to take charge of their paint color experiences. After its acquisition by Valspar Paint and then Sherwin Williams, She walked away with a 5-year non-compete, launching DIP Design Is Personal® in 2018 and now Color Baggage®.

Previously Gretchen has worked with regional, national, and international paint manufacturers such as General Paints in Ireland, Hirshfields in Minneapolis, and Selectone in Canada to create the powerhouse cult brand Devine Color, Color Therapy From The Northwest. Devine Color was purchased by Valspar Paint in 2009, followed by the acquisition of both Valspar Paint and Devine Color by Sherwin Williams in 2018.
